Carrie Miles has good reason to believe that the agape love taught by Jesus transforms individuals, marriages, families, cultures, and even whole continents!  Her passion to share the power of this love led her to her second passion, the people of Africa.  As the founder of Empower International Ministries Carrie conducts yearly ministry trips to Africa--a continent she never thought she would dare visit.  With a doctorate in social and organizational psychology from the University of Chicago, she wrote The Redemption of Love (Brazos Press, 2006) and two Bible study guides in use internationally.  Carrie attends Truro Church in Fairfax, Virginia and has taught Adult Discipleship classes there.  She loves to spend time with her family (husband Larry and two grown children), read, write, and conduct cross-cultural research on family issues.
